Administrative Law
The firm has a broad base of skill and expertise in the area of administrative law. After working for Speaker Carl Albert in Washington, Ms. Ables, served as an Assistant Attorney General in the office of the Attorney General of Oklahoma. Ms. Ables was the Deputy Insurance Commissioner for a number of years and provides representation for insurers before that agency for licensure, approvals for acquisitions and all matters before the agency. From that experience, Ms. Ables gained vast experience and a sizeable contact base with the many agencies of the State of Oklahoma. Currently, the firm practices before the significant state agencies including the Oklahoma Tax Commission, the Oklahoma State Department of Health, the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality, the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, the State Election Board, the Oklahoma Water Resources Board and the Oklahoma Insurance Department.
Johnny Blassingame assists the firm’s clients before the Insurance Department and has represented insurers on financial filings and other regulatory approvals requiring advanced knowledge of statutory accounting and the investment code set forth in the Oklahoma Insurance Code. Mr. Blassingame also has practiced before the Oklahoma State Department of Health, the Oklahoma Securities Commission and state agencies that award bids to vendors in bidding contest matters.
